  • 120 gr. of butter
  • 300 gr. white sugar
  • two eggs
  • 250 gr. Of flour
  • 2 natural yogurts
  • 15 gr. cocoa powder
  • 1 tablespoon yeast
  • 1 spoon of essence of vanilla
  • 1 tablespoon of white vinegar
  • 1 tablespoon of baking soda
  • 1/4 tablespoon of salt
  • Red colorant

  1. Before starting to prepare this cake, the first thing we have to do is put the oven on at 180ºC so that it warms up. Also prepare the mold.
  2. Let’s start with the cake. Beat the sugar together with the eggs until fluffy. As soon as it is done, add the salt, butter and vanilla and stir again.
  3. Now mix the flour, the yeast, the yogurts, the chocolate powder and the red food coloring in another bowl and, in a glass, dissolve the white vinegar together with the bicarbonate of soda. Add it quickly to the previous mix.
  4. Now you have to go making the cake in layers. Make as many as will fit in the bowl, until you finish both doughs. As soon as you are done, put the cake in the oven for half an hour. Now we are going to prepare the frosting.
  5. You are going to need two bowls. In one, add the Philadelphia cheese and the mascarpone cheese and mix them with the help of a mixer. In the other, whip the cream to cook.
  6. As soon as you see that the cheeses have taken on a certain foamy texture, add the icing sugar and, if the cream is already whipped, add it as well.
  7. If the cake has already been in the oven for half an hour, remove it carefully and cover it all with the frosting. Once it’s all covered, let it sit for a couple of hours. Afterwards, your cake will be ready! Feel like a movie star thanks to this red velvet steel Magnolias cake!
