The apple stuffed turkey It is a simple dish, in which the flavor of turkey and apple are combined, achieving a unique mixture that creates an excellent explosion of flavors in the mouth. On Easyrecipe.top We are going to teach you how to prepare it in a few simple steps.
For the turkey:
- 4 kg turkey
- 10 apples
- ½ glass of whiskey
- 2 tablespoons olive oil
For the filling:
- 400 gr. from mince from chicken
- 400 gr. from mince pork
- two apples
- two eggs
- two eggs cooked
- 50 gr. raisins
- 50 gr. prunes
- 50 gr. pine nuts
- 1 plate of breadcrumbs
- 4 teeth of Garlic
- 20 gr. parsley
- ½ tablespoon of salt
- ½ tablespoon of pepper
Preparation of apple stuffed turkey
- Unless you bought the turkey already cleaned, the night before you will have to wash it and remove the entrails. Then you put it in the fridge to preserve it overnight.
- The next day, beat the two eggs with a little salt and chop the garlic cloves into small pieces. Add the meat to the same plate as the eggs along with the garlic and parsley, start mixing with your hands. So that the meat does not stick so much to your hands you can flour them.
- Salt and pepper the mixture and add the prunes, raisins and pine nuts. Again mix with your hands again. Turn the oven to 180 ºC to preheat it while you finish the preparation.
- Now chop the cooked eggs into small pieces and mix them again with your hands. Finally, spread the breadcrumbs and mix again until you get a compact mixture. Peel the apple and chop it into small pieces, then mix it all together.
- Tuck all of the stuffing inside the turkey, sealing the hole with toothpicks so the stuffing doesn’t leak. Place the turkey on a large platter.
- Brush the turkey with oil and season it to your liking. You can also pour a little oil over the filling before closing it if you wish, this will make your apple stuffed turkey juicier.
- Chop the apples and distribute them on the tray. Put in the oven at 180º C for four and a half hours, more or less. If you have used a smaller turkey, calculate 1 hour for each kilo of turkey weight, also taking into account the filling.
- Every 20 minutes you have to be injected into the turkey, with a syringe, the whiskey. In addition, you must bathe it with the apple compote that has formed in the oven. You must do it abundantly so that it does not burn.
- When there is only half an hour left for the dish to be ready, if you want the turkey to be golden brown, you must program the grill. If you want it to be sweet, you can spread a little caramel with a brush. You should do it when it only has 20 minutes left so that it absorbs the flavor of the caramel well.
- Once the apple stuffed turkey is ready, remember that you should let it rest for at least 20 minutes before carving it. Enjoy your meal!
