Ingredients

  • 130 gr. of butter
  • 4 eggs
  • 7 tablespoons of milk
  • 7 tablespoons sugar
  • 7 tablespoons flour
  • ½ sachet of yeast
  • two apples
  • Syrup

Traditional apple sponge cake recipe

  1. In a bowl, beat four eggs until there is not a single lump left. Then add the seven tablespoons of milk one by one, and then do the same with the flour and sugar. Mix well and pour the yeast envelope. Before mixing everything, check if the butter is very soft, in that case pour it into the mixture.
  2. Beat everything well until a very homogeneous and unique mixture is formed. Wash and peel the apples, then cut them into squares or pass them through the grinder. You will put half of the quantity in the mixture that you have made.
  3. Pour the contents into the mold that you are going to use, after having spread it with a little butter or sprinkled with flour, and cover the top with the remaining apple pieces.
  4. Start the oven at 190º C and put the mixture inside. It will take 30 – 45 minutes to be ready. Check to see if you are poking it with a toothpick or knife and see if it comes out clean.
