Pesto sauce is a smooth and very rich sauce that is prepared based on the combination of different ingredients, especially vegetables, to give it that unique touch that characterizes it. Pesto sauce recipe


  • 1 tablespoon of basil
  • 50 gr. spinach
  • 2 cloves of garlic
  • 50 gr. pine nuts
  • 60 gr. walnuts
  • 40 gr. parmesan cheese
  • Olive oil
  • Parsley

Preparing the pesto sauce

With this pesto recipe You will learn to prepare the traditional and more typical recipe, you will see how much work it is than it seems.

  1. The first thing is to wash the spinach leaves well. If you are mashing the parsley and basil yourself, it is also recommended to wash them to remove all the filth. Pass the spinach through the blender.
  2. Peel the garlic cloves and cut them into small pieces, which you will throw into the blender and proceed to crush them together with the spinach for two minutes or so, until everything is finely chopped.
  3. Once you have finished chopping everything, you will notice that a slightly dry mixture has formed. You will have to fix it and for this it is best to add a little olive oil, so that the dough takes shape. Four tablespoons of olive oil should suffice. In some regions they use water instead of oil.
  4. Blend again and it is only a matter of adding the rest of the ingredients; the basil, the pine nuts, the walnuts, the parsley … and finally the Parmesan cheese little by little. Once all the cheese has been added, blend for about 3 minutes.

Check the flavor to see if it’s okay, if not, add a little more parsley or cheese. And you will have your pesto sauce ready.
