  • 100 ml. soy milk
  • 50 gr. vegetable margarine (if you don’t have it, you can use sunflower oil)
  • 200 gr. wheat flour
  • Salt

Vegan béchamel preparation

  1. First of all, heat the margarine in a frying pan to soften it, otherwise you have to use a little sunflower oil in the same amount.
  2. In another saucepan you are going to heat the soy milk, but without bringing it to a boil.
  3. When it is hot, lower the heat to the minimum of the pan where you have the margarine and you are going to add it while stirring the flour.
  4. After having incorporated it completely, add the soy milk without stopping stirring either, until you see that you are creating a homogeneous sauce a little thick.
  5. Add a little salt and stir again, so that it is very well integrated.
  6. Now do not serve it hot, it is much better to let it rest in the refrigerator so that it takes a little consistency and fresh it tastes much better than if it were hot.
