Ingredients

  • 250 gr. from tuna fresh and clean
  • 1 avocado mature
  • 1 tomato big mature
  • Juice of 1 lime
  • Rustic bread
  • Extra virgin olive oil
  • Salt

To dress:

  • A few drops of lime juice
  • 1 tablespoon of whole grain mustard
  • 1 tablespoon soy sauce
  • 1 tablespoon of extra virgin olive oil
  • Ground black pepper
  • Salt

Preparation of tuna tartare with avocado

  1. Keep the tuna frozen for at least two or three days before preparing this tartare, to avoid contagion by anisakis. Twelve hours before starting to cook it, put it in the refrigerator so that it defrosts on a rack or in a colander.
  2. When you start making the tartar, start by cutting the tuna into small cubes. Put them in a bowl, and add all the ingredients of the dressing.
  3. Cover this bowl with plastic wrap, and put it in the fridge to marinate while you prepare the other ingredients.
  4. Peel the tomato, and cut it in the same way as the tuna. Remove excess water with absorbent kitchen paper. Add a little salt to it.
  5. Next you must peel and cut the avocados like the tomato and the tuna. Water them with the lime juice, to prevent them from darkening. Add some ground black pepper.
  6. Cut the rustic bread into rather thin slices, and place them in the oven previously preheated to 200ºC. You must ensure that they do not burn.
  7. Take out the bowl that you put in the fridge with the tuna and the dressing. With the help of a plating ring, put tomato cubes at the bottom of each plate, then avocado and finally tuna.
  8. Accompany it with two or three toasts of bread, with a little extra virgin olive oil on top. Now you can start tasting your tuna tartare with avocado, take advantage!
