Ingredients

  • 16 wafers for dumplings
  • 100 gr. tuna in oil
  • two eggs
  • 1 onion
  • 4 tablespoons of sauce tomato homemade
  • Extra virgin olive oil
  • Salt

Preparation of the baked tuna dumplings

  1. Put the oven to preheat to 180ºC and, while you wait for it to reach the right temperature, put a pot of water to boil. Add one of the two eggs and leave it there for fifteen minutes. The onion, for its part, you have to peel and chop it as small as you can.
  2. Pour a little olive oil in a pan and sauté the onion with a pinch of salt. As soon as three minutes pass, add the four tablespoons of homemade tomato sauce and mix well with the onion. Turn off the heat and reserve.
  3. Put the tuna in oil in a large bowl and drain it. Add the sauce that you just prepared and, if the egg is already hard, chop it and put it in this container as well. Mix everything together and mash it with the help of a fork.
  4. Spread the patty wafers on the counter or table and cut them into circles. Put a tablespoon of filling on the side of each of them leaving a little free of the edge. Close the dumplings, folding them in half, and seal them by pressing the edges with the help of a fork. If they do not close well, wet the dough on the edge a little with water.
  5. When you have closed all the empanadillas, put them in the oven tray on a layer of aluminum foil or parchment paper. Beat the egg and paint the patties on both sides with the help of a brush until they are very shiny.
  6. Put the tray in the oven and leave it for ten minutes so that the empanadillas are made. After this time, all you have to do is turn off the oven, set aside and serve your delicious tuna dumplings. Don’t let them get cold! You will see that this warm they are absolutely exquisite.
