A stewed meat with rice It is a dish with which you can easily improvise a meal and also without having to prepare a second, because it is a complete recipe with a rich feta cheese salad or a good Gazpacho It is more than enough.
If you already have stewed meat, take advantage of it to make this recipe, any type of meat will do, be it pork ribs, beef for braising, rabbit and even chicken.
- 400gr of meat (you can use that is already stewed, or veal, pork, rabbit or chicken)
- 1 onion
- 2 teeth of Garlic
- 1 tomato mature
- 1 green pepper small
- 1 tablespoon of salt
- 1 glass of White wine
- 4 cups of rice
- 1 beef stock cube
- 1 handful of green peas
- Extra virgin olive oil
Preparation of stewed meat with rice
- To prepare a rich stew of meat with rice, we will start by salting and browning the meat in a pan with a jet of oil. If the meat is already cooked, we skip this step. Then we take it out and reserve it.
- In the same pan, poach the finely chopped onion over medium heat, together with the garlic and green pepper, also minced. Then we add the crushed tomato and let it fry with the vegetables.
- Next we add the meat stock tablet and the glass of wine. We let the alcohol evaporate and pour the meat. We stir well for a few minutes and cover with 2 glasses of water. Cover and let it cook for half an hour or until the sauce reduces.
- If the meat is already cooked, it will not need to be cooked. Let’s see how to continue with the recipe in both cases.
- With stewed meat: Add the meat to the sauce and the four cups of rice. Stir well for a few minutes and cover with eight cups of water.
- With uncooked meat: Wait for the sauce to reduce and then add the four cups of rice and after stirring for a few minutes as well, cover everything with the eight cups of water.
- We will let it cook over medium heat until the water evaporates and the rice is tender. Rectify the salt and add more water if necessary because it has dried a lot.
- Let stand about ten minutes and serve. Take advantage!
