Preparation of American apple pie

  6. Add the butter to a skillet and when it has melted add the apples. In a cup, mix the cornmeal with the lemon juice and when the apples are golden brown add, stir and cook for 5 minutes. Remove from heat and reserve.
  7. Grease and flour the mold and remove one of the halves of the dough that you reserved from the fridge. Add a little flour on the table and with a rolling pin roll it out until you get a layer that can cover the bottom and the sides of the mold. Press with your hands to adjust.
  8. Cover with parchment paper and bake for 15 minutes in a preheated 180 ° C oven. Take it out, remove the paper and cover with the filling.
  9. Spread the other half of the dough, but this time make strips with which to cover the pie as a lid and forming a grid. Or you can cover it completely as well, in that case the layer should be a bit larger so you can mold the edges so the filling doesn’t come off. Make several cuts in the surface to let the heat escape.
