This is a dish for those who love vegetables, especially peas. Following this recipe step by step, you can prepare a delicious plate of meatballs in pea sauce Even if it is the first time you cook it.
- 400 gr. from mince mixed
- 1 egg
- 1 tooth of Garlic
- ½ loaf of bread
- 1 onion
- 5 tablespoons of tomato fried
- two carrots
- 210 gr. from green peas
- 1 bay leaf
- Olive oil
Recipe for meatballs in pea sauce
- Soak the crumbs from the half loaf of bread in the milk. On the other hand, put the peas to cook in a pan with water, unless you have bought them already cooked.
- Drain them after cooking for about 10 minutes.
- Peel the garlic clove and chop it into as small pieces as you can. Mix them with the chopped parsley and pour this mixture over the minced meat. Use your hands to make the mixture as homogeneous as possible. Also add the beaten egg and the breadcrumbs soaked in milk. Salt and pepper to your liking and begin to knead using both hands, so that all the ingredients are well integrated.
- Take small portions of meat and turn them into balls, it is best to bathe them a little in flour to keep their shape. Then let them rest in the fridge for about 20 – 30 minutes so that they take on a good consistency and do not break so easily.
- To go ahead in what the meatballs cool, it is best to prepare the sauce. The peas will already be well done, so put them in the blender glass, along with the fried tomato, a well-chopped onion, a teaspoon of flour and a glass of water. Beat everything until you get a mixture that is not too thick. If it stays thick, then add a little more water.
- Cut the carrot into slices and fry it in a pan, add the meatballs and the sauce that you just prepared. Put it on a low heat, for about 20 minutes, and the meatballs in pea sauce are ready.
