For the puree:

  • 4 potatoes
  • 2 teaspoons of butter
  • 1 cup of milk
  • Salt
  • Ground black pepper

For the minced meat:

  • 400 gr. from mince beef
  • 3 teeth of Garlic
  • 1 onion
  • 1 cup of puree tomato
  • 1 cup of grated Parmesan cheese
  • 1 red pepper
  • Chopped fresh parsley
  • 1 tablespoon of olive oil
  • ½ cup of water
  • Salt
  • Ground black pepper

Preparation of mashed potatoes with minced meat

  1. The first thing you have to do to prepare this dish is to peel and wash the potatoes and, as soon as you have them, cut them into pieces. Now put water in a pot and, as soon as it starts to boil, add the potatoes. Leave them there for thirty minutes.
  2. When this time has elapsed, drain the potatoes, put them in a bowl and add the butter. Since they are still warm, it will fall apart.
  3. Now mash the potatoes with the help of a masher or, if you don’t have one, a fork. Stir everything, add the milk, pepper and salt and keep stirring.
  4. Now peel the garlic and onion and cut everything into small pieces. Wash the red pepper, remove the seeds and also cut it into pieces as small as you can, so it will not be noticeable when chewing.
  5. Put a little oil in a pot and, as soon as it is hot, add the garlic and onion. When these ingredients have been poached, add the pepper to the pot, stir, wait about five minutes and remove everything from the pot. Put it in a bowl and reserve. Then we will use it again.
  6. Put the minced meat in the same pot in which we were making the vegetables. As soon as you see that it is turning brown, add the vegetables that we have cooked before.
  7. Stir everything and add the tomato sauce. Put the heat on medium power and cover the pot. The stew has to be on the fire for about twenty minutes. Turn the oven to 200ºC so that it warms up.
  8. If this time has passed, remove the meat from the pot and put it in an oven-safe container. Spread everything well and, on top, put the mashed potatoes. Cover with the grated cheese and put the container in the oven. It has to be gratin for about 10 minutes.
  9. After this time, it only remains to serve this delicious mashed potatoes with minced meat. Now wash the parsley, remove the stems, cut the leaves and put it on top. You will see what presentation! Enjoy your meal!
