If there is a classic pasta dish that always triumphs, these are the macaroni with tomato, a simple option that is delicious and perfect for any occasion in which we do not have much time to cook but, even so, we want to enjoy a tasty option.
You can serve them as we recommend in this recipe, with a little chorizo to give it an intense flavor, dispense with this ingredient and opt for the simple alternative or add a rich one home made meat balls the perfect combination!
Gather all the ingredients, because we start cooking right away.
- 400 gr. from macaroni
- 100 gr. chorizo (optional)
- 1 large can of tomato natural crushed
- 1 onion
- 2 teeth of Garlic
- Olive oil
Preparation of the macaroni and tomato
- Start by filling a pot with plenty of water, add a tablespoon of salt and olive oil. Place it over high heat and bring to a boil, when it reaches the boiling point, add the macaroni and let it cook until al dente, stirring frequently so that they do not stick.
- Now peel the garlic cloves and chop them into very small pieces. Also peel the onion and cut it in the same way. Reserve both ingredients.
- Add a splash of oil to a skillet and bring to medium low heat. When it is hot, add the garlic and onion and cook over low heat until the onion is transparent and the garlic gives off its characteristic smell. Salt and pepper to taste
- When the onion is transparent, add the crushed natural tomato, stir and season again. Let it cook together for about 15 minutes or until the sauce thickens.
- If you are going to add chorizo to the preparation, cut it into cubes and add it to a pan to lightly fry it for a few minutes. When there are 5 minutes to finish the sauce, add the chorizo to impregnate it with its flavor.
- Once the pasta is ready, strain it and thoroughly remove any water residue that it may have. Mix the pasta with the sauce, stirring well to make sure it is properly impregnated.
- Your macaroni and tomato sauce are ready! This recipe is delicious and very simple to make, but remember that if you don’t like the version with chorizo, you can remove it. Serve them with cheese to taste and enjoy their simple flavor.
