Lentil curry recipe

  • 200 gr. from lentils
  • 80 gr. from rice
  • 3 teeth of Garlic
  • 1 onion big
  • 1 carrot
  • 1 zucchini
  • 1 glass of sauce tomato fried
  • 1 vegetable stock cube
  • Curry powder to taste
  • Salt
  • Olive oil

Preparation of lentils with curry

  1. The first thing to do is peel the onion and wash it for a minute under tap water to reduce its tear effect. You chop it into very small pieces, for which it is much better to use the shredder.
  2. You also peel and chop the garlic cloves well, cutting them into slices.
  3. You put both ingredients in a pot, with a little olive oil, so that they are poached.
  4. In what they are poached, you are going to peel the carrot, wash it well under tap water and chop it. You are also going to peel and chop the zucchini. If you can think of another vegetable that you like in the lentils, you can also add it. You add both ingredients to the saucepan when you see that the onion has become transparent.
  5. Wash the lentils under running water to clean them, dry them and add them to the pot when the vegetables are very soft. Stir well.
  6. Now pour the cup of fried tomato sauce, if you don’t have it, you can also use the ketchup, and stir so that everything mixes well, letting the ketchup dissolve a little.
  7. Now sprinkle a little curry, stir well to integrate and cover everything with water, about 2 liters should be enough.
  8. Let everything cook for a quarter of an hour. After that time, you add the vegetable stock cube, a little salt and some more curry.
  9. Cook for another 10 minutes and check the flavor to see if you have to add more curry or if it is to your liking.
  10. Add the rice and let it finish cooking until the rice is done.
