German curry sauce, also known as currywurst, is widely used in the Germanic region to use as a coating for their famous franfurk sausages.
- 1/4 cup vinegar
- 1 onion
- 1/4 cup sugar
- 1 can of sauce tomato natural
- 1 teaspoon of paprika
- 2 tablespoons curry
- 2 tablespoons oil
Preparation of German curry sauce
- Peel the onion, wash it well under running water so your eyes don’t water so much, and cut it into cubes of the size you like best.
- Put the onion to poach in a saucepan or in a pot with the two tablespoons of olive oil for about 6 minutes or so.
- When you see that it begins to become transparent, or that 6 minutes have already passed, add the tablespoon of paprika and the two tablespoons of curry. Stir non-stop for 30 seconds.
- Add the natural tomato sauce, the 1/4 cup of vinegar and the quarter cup of sugar and stir to integrate all the ingredients.
- Now, turn up the heat until it starts to boil. Once this is achieved, reduce the temperature and let it cook for about 20 minutes, stirring every three or four minutes so that it does not stick to you.
- It is a sauce that you can serve hot or cold, whichever way you like to take it.
