Pasta frola recipe with lemon cream

You are going to enjoy this very much pasta frola with lemon cream, especially since you will have prepared it very easily and you will see that the final result is well worth it.


For the mass:

  • 600 gr. Of flour
  • 1 tablespoon of baking powder
  • 175 gr. white sugar
  • 80 gr. of butter
  • 1 egg
  • 1/2 tablespoon of salt
  • 1 tablespoon of essence of vanilla
  • Water

For the filling:

  • 4 eggs
  • 80 gr. of butter
  • 200 gr. white sugar
  • two lemons

Preparation of pasta frola with lemon cream

  1. First sift the flour into a bowl, make a volcano in the center, in which you are going to put the baking powder, mix honey. Then you add the salt and mix again.
  2. You are going to mix the butter with the sugar, for which you will need it to be soft, so if this is not the case, let it rest for a few minutes outside the fridge. Mix until you make a paste.
  3. Beat the egg and add it to the mixture, beating again. Add the vanilla essence and beat again.
  4. Add the flour mixture with other ingredients and beat again, which will form a kind of creamy mixture.
  5. Pour little by little water, which is lukewarm, and do not stop beating at any time until a compact dough is formed, which you will begin to knead with your hands, until you make a ball with it, which you cover with plastic wrap and let it rest in the fridge for an hour or so.
  6. As the dough rests, make the filling, to do this, beat the four eggs with the sugar, until making a whitish mixture.
  7. Squeeze the two lemons to obtain their juice and grate them, trying not to take a single piece of the white part. Add both the juice and the grated skin to the egg and sugar mixture and beat.
  8. Now add the butter and do not stop beating until a creamy mixture forms.
  9. The dough should have settled long enough, so you take it out and cut a portion, about 1/3 of the dough, because that’s what it will serve to cover the lemon curd.
  10. Knead with a well-floured rolling pin until it forms a circular or square shape and put it inside the mold.
