If you want to learn how to cook a dish that goes beyond the traditional, this fried tofu it’s perfect for experimenting with new flavors. Tofu comes from China and due to its high protein content it is a good substitute for animal protein, which is why it is an essential part of the diet of vegans and vegetarians.

Its versatility is unlimited and it can be cooked with vegetables, meat, fish or included raw in salads. It is very tasty!

Therefore, today in Easyrecipe.top we invite you to prepare a fried tofu. Take note that we are about to start!


  • 400 gr. from tofu Lasted
  • 1/2 cup cornstarch or cornstarch
  • 3 tablespoons toasted sesame seeds (optional)
  • 5 tablespoons soy sauce
  • 2 tablespoons of rice vinegar
  • 2 garlic cloves, crushed
  • 1 teaspoon of sugar
  • A pinch of pepper
  • Vegetable oil for frying
  • 1 teaspoon salt

Preparation of fried tofu

  1. The first thing you are going to do is drain the tofu when you remove it from the packaging or wrapper. Cut it into dice and place it in a container.
  2. Peel the garlic and mash them in a mortar. Reservation.
  3. In a bowl add the soy sauce, the crushed garlic, the sugar, the rice vinegar and the pepper. Mix well so that the sugar dissolves and everything is integrated.
  4. Pour the sauce over the tofu and marinade for 30 minutes. If you have time you can leave it for 2 more hours. Stir occasionally so that everything is well impregnated.
  5. After marinating, drain the tofu and reserve the sauce where you marinated it. Spread the cornstarch, salt and sesame seeds on a plate, mix with a spoon.
  6. Roll the dice in the cornstarch, remove the excess with your hand. Heat plenty of oil in a frying pan and fry the tofu until golden brown.
  7. Remove the excess oil by placing them on absorbent paper and reserve.
  8. Next you are going to strain the sauce to remove the garlic and bring it to the heat for 5 minutes to reduce it a bit.
  9. Serve your fried tofu and garnish with this reduction you just made or with a sweet and sour sauce. Accompany it with rice, noodles or a good couscous. Take advantage!
