Broad bean falafel recipe

The falafel beans It is an ideal recipe to add a touch of variety to our diet. With a different flavor, but very rich.

Ingredients

  • ½ kg. of broad beans.
  • 2 teeth of Garlic.
  • 1 onion median.
  • Fine salt
  • 150 gr. of breadcrumbs.
  • ½ on yeast.

Bean falafel recipe.

  1. As with the other varieties of falafel, we will need the beans to be tender. To achieve this, we will soak them in a bowl with plenty of water the night of the previous day. In this way they will be ready for when we have to cook the dish the next day.
  2. Peel the onion and chop it into small pieces. We recommend that you wash it before cutting so that your eyes do not water so much. The garlic cloves are also peeled and minced well, into pieces as small as we can. We put all this in a bowl.
  3. We strain the beans and drain them well so that they release all the water. We add them to the bowl and stir so that the ingredients are spread well.
  4. Then we will season our ingredients to taste with salt, pepper, cumin, parsley and coriander. We stir a little so that all the ingredients are well seasoned. Finally we add the yeast.
  5. We put it all in the blender glass and we are going to beat it well until the ingredients are very well mixed in a single cream, where we do not notice any difference between ingredients. We will put this cream in the fridge for a couple of hours so that it takes consistency.
  6. With the cream already ready, we take it out of the fridge and with a spoon we will take small portions. We wet our hands, so that the cream does not stick to our hands, and these portions will be shaped into balls or pasties, as you prefer. As you mix them, leave them on a tray or any other container.
  7. We place the breadcrumbs, or the flour, on a plate and we are breading each ball that we have prepared one by one. We light the fire and place a frying pan with enough oil.
  8. We are going to fry them two by two. Make sure they are well browned on both sides.
  9. Now ready, we place them on a tray with absorbent paper. Thanks to the paper, they will release all the oil that is left over and thus it will not be so harmful to our health. When they are all ready, and they have released the oil, remove the paper and serve.
