  • 6 bananas
  • 100 gr. of sugar
  • 100 gr. brown sugar
  • 200 ml. of water
  • 1 lemon
  • 1/4 teaspoon ground cloves
  • 1 cinnamon stick

Preparation of the banana compote

  1. First of all, you must prepare the fruit that you will use to make this rich compote. All you have to do is peel the bananas and slice them.
  2. Add the water in a pot, the lemon juice, the sugar, the cloves and stir so that everything is integrated.
  3. Cook over medium heat and, when it comes to a boil, add the fruit and cinnamon.
  4. Lower the heat and cook for 20 minutes, stirring occasionally so it doesn’t stick. You cannot neglect it because it burns easily.
  5. When the fruit is soft and caramelized, remove it from the pot. You can leave the pieces whole or you can also mash it with a fork, as you prefer. Remove the cinnamon stick before serving or packing.
