Stuffed Arabic bread recipe

The recipe for stuffed arabic bread, is based on the traditional pita bread recipe.


For the bread:

  • 500 gr. Of flour.
  • 25 gr. baker’s yeast.
  • 1 teaspoon of sugar.
  • 250 ml. of water.
  • Corn oil.

For the filling:

  • 3 tablespoons pine nuts.
  • 250 gr. of roast beef in strips.
  • 1 carrot
  • 1 apricot lettuce.
  • 1 cucumber
  • 1 onion.
  • ½ cup of crumbled feta cheese.
  • 3 tablespoons of mayonnaise.
  • 2 tablespoons of milk.
  • 1 tablespoon of cider vinegar.

Stuffed Arabic bread recipe.

  1. The first thing is to prepare what the bread will be, for this we put a saucepan with the water and let, at low power, mix the yeast with a tablespoon of sugar, until they form a foam.
  2. Once this is achieved, we add the flour in a deep container, and we will add a tablespoon of corn oil and carefully the water where we have mixed the sugar and yeast. With the mixer we beat everything until a dough is formed that is increasingly difficult to stir. At that moment we sprinkle flour in our hands and knead ourselves, until it is shaped into a ball. We cover it and let it rest.
  3. We already turn the oven to 180º C so that it warms up.
  4. While the dough rests, we are going to take care of the rest of the ingredients to prepare the filling. To do this, we are going to fry the pine nuts well in a pan until they are well browned.
  5. We are going to peel and cut the rest of the vegetables, making sure to wash them well and cut them into portions that are to our liking when eating them. It is not necessary to fry them, but if you like them better like that, you just have to add them to the pan with the pine nuts and do it.
  6. All that is done we let it rest in a large bowl, stirring it well so that the ingredients are well mixed. So as the dough will have rested long enough, we are taking pieces and shaping it into Arabic bread, using the rolling pin. We will do about six.
  7. Ready the breads, we cut them in half and fill them with the mixture that we have in the bowl, distributing it evenly.
  8. Next we will make the decoration, for this in a container we mix the mayonnaise, with the milk and the vinegar, stirring it well until we get a homogeneous mixture.
  9. We add this cream on top of the filling, we seal it so that the ingredients do not escape and to the oven. It will take about 10 minutes to be ready.
