This jelly is one of the most versatile, since you can use it to give an exotic touch to mashed potatoes, you can add it to cakes and cookies or simply use it as the star companion of some delicious pork ribs.

Ingredients

  • 1 kg of apples wild
  • 1 liter of water
  • White sugar
  • 1 lemon

Preparation of apple jelly

  1. To start preparing this delicious apple jelly you must wash the fruits and cut them into pieces. You don’t have to peel them or extract their hearts.
  2. Add the apples to a pot or cauldron with a liter of water and simmer for 30 minutes. When the fruit is soft, turn off the heat.
  3. Take the cooked fruit out of the pot, wrap the apples in cheesecloth, a cloth or a tablecloth, and place them on top of a container to drain as much juice as possible. If you get a small amount of juice as a result, feel free to squeeze the gauze or cloth to get a little more liquid.
  4. Save the fruit pieces to use in another recipe, as they are not needed to make the jelly. You can keep them and prepare a delicious apple pie or a fruit tart – your imagination is the limit.
  5. Once you have collected the juice, weigh it and add 750 grams of sugar for each liter obtained. That is, if you managed to drain 2 liters of juice from your apples, you should add 1.5 kg of sugar to that liquid.
  6. Bring the mixture to a boil over medium heat, add the juice of 1/2 lemon and wait for a syrup to form, which may take 15 minutes.
  7. Once the jelly is about to syrup you should turn off the heat and deposit the preparation in preferably glass containers, as they better preserve the flavor of the fruit. When the apple jelly cools, you will get a consistent and ready-to-taste jam.
