  1. As always when we make a broth, the chickpeas have to be tender. So the day before preparing the dish we put them in a bowl with plenty of water and a little salt. We let it rest overnight. If you buy frozen this will not be necessary, but it is always better to use fresh and natural products.
  2. We put a large pot on the fire, at medium power, with enough water. We add the bones, the meat and the bacon. Strain and drain the chickpeas, then add them to the pot. As later we will have to separate them, if you want they can be put in a net inside the pot so that you do not have to be looking for them.
  3. Foam will start to form in the broth, so remove it with a spoon. Everything should cook for about an hour.
  4. We peel the carrots and potatoes, wash them and proceed to chop them to our liking. We add them to the broth, with a little salt and the green beans. Let it cook for another hour.
  5. After the second hour, the chickpeas will be tender, as well as the vegetables (beans, potatoes and carrots). So we take everything out of the pot, placing it in a large platter or plate.
  6. We strain the broth, and we can prepare some noodles or rice with it, and then add the chickpeas and vegetables.
  7. There is no reason to throw away the meat, because you can take advantage of it to make croquettes, for example.
