The american cheesecake, also known as New York Cheesecake, is a variant of the traditional cheesecake and the main difference between one recipe and the other is that, in this case, the cake has to be baked.

This variant of the cheesecake is also accompanied by jam and fruits, which allows everyone to adapt it to their liking. If you have a party and want to prepare several types of dessert, you can choose to also cook some banana crepes or a delicious nutella brownie. Your guests will be speechless!

With that said, are you ready to prepare the best american cheesecake what can you imagine? Well let’s get to it!


  • 1 package of Maria cookies
  • 50 gr. from walnuts
  • 80 gr. of butter
  • 1 tablespoon of essence of vanilla
  • 500 gr. from cream
  • 500 gr. cheese spread
  • 3 eggs
  • 1 yoghurt Greek
  • 200 gr. of sugar
  • 3 tablespoons of flour
  • Blueberry jam
  • 100 gr. natural blueberries

Preparation of the American cheesecake

  1. To start cooking this cake, the first thing we are going to do is turn the oven to 180ºC so that it warms up and, in the meantime, we are going to prepare the base.
  2. Put the cookies in a plastic bag and flatten them with a rolling pin. Do the same with the walnuts and, as soon as you have everything, put it in a bowl. Now put the butter in the microwave for about 20 seconds and, as soon as it is melted, add it to the bowl and mix it.
  3. Take the mold in which you are going to prepare the cake and put a little oil on it. Make sure that the entire mold is completely covered because otherwise the cake will stick to the walls. Next, put the mixture you just made on the base and mash it to make it compact.
  4. Put the mold in the oven and wait ten minutes. As soon as it’s done, let it cool down.
  5. Now, take the eggs and put them in a bowl. Mix them together with the sugar and, as soon as you get a uniform mixture, add the cheese spread, the cream, the Greek yogurt, the teaspoon of vanilla essence and the flour.
  6. As for the mixture, there is no lump left, pour it over the cookie base and put the cake in the oven. It has to be baking for 80 minutes. Put it first for 10 minutes at maximum power and then lower the oven temperature to 180ºC.
  7. As soon as this time has passed, turn off the oven and let the cake cool. Meanwhile, undo the jam in a double boiler and wash and cut the fruit.
  8. If you see that the cake has already cooled, first put the jam on the cake and then the fruit and cover your mold with a transparent film. Put the cake in the fridge for at least three hours and then you can eat it.
  9. Your New York Cheesecake is ready! Its flavor will surprise you and it is just as delicious!
