American meatloaf recipe

For those of you who enjoy meatloaf, you will do much more if you prepare it in the American style, you just have to do it and you will see it right away.


  • 2 tablespoons unsalted butter
  • 1 onion
  • 2 tablespoons celery
  • 1 carrot
  • 1/2 chives
  • 3 teeth of Garlic
  • 2 tablespoons of salt
  • 1/2 tablespoon of black pepper
  • 2 tablespoons Worcestershire sauce
  • 150 gr. ketchup
  • 680 gr. from mince
  • 340 gr. of longaniza
  • 60 gr. bread crumbs
  • two eggs
  • 1/2 cup of parsley

Preparation of American meatloaf

  1. Put the oven on at 175º C so that it gets the temperature you need, that it heats up and down.
  2. Over low heat, you will melt the butter, helping by stirring it with a spoon.
  3. While the butter is melting, peel the onion, wash it well under running water, and chop it into small pieces. You also peel and wash the carrot to cut it into small cubes (much easier if you pass it through the mincer), as well as chop the celery, onion and garlic.
  4. Add everything to the pan when the butter has become foam and stir for about 5 minutes.
  5. Cover the pan, after 5 minutes, and cook for another 5 minutes with everything covered.
  6. Salt and pepper to taste, also adding the worcestershire sauce and half a cup of the ketchup. Stir well and turn up the heat a little so that the sauces are well integrated. Let cool.
  7. Salt and pepper the meat and grind the longaniza to mix it with the meat.
  8. Transfer this mixture to a bowl, along with the vegetables, eggs, breadcrumbs and parsley. Use your hands to mix everything and make a uniform dough.
  9. Pour this mixture into a mold, better removable, and fit it well, covering the entire part of the surface with the ketchup that you have left over.
  10. Put it in the oven for an hour so that it is done well and before tasting it, let it rest for about 10 minutes.
